Mom came to visit us from Florida all the way to sunny California. Instead of just taking it easy, we decided to get her into shape and go hiking! We took her to Napa Valley where they have beautiful mountains to hike that overlook vast green rolling hills filled with grape vines for wineries as far as the eye can see. We hiked 8 miles with about 1000 feet of elevation and Mom handled it like a champ!
Every year the Rawji’s celebrate Christmas on New Years. We leave the Christmas tree up just a bit longer and Santa gets us all our presents from after Christmas sales! Unfortunately Leanne couldn’t make it to be there with us to watch the ball drop in (an eerily empty) NYC or to open presents, but we were able to Zoom her in so she could be with us virtually!
Boat ride on the lake! Does life get better than this??Duck! We went under this bridge! Here you can see us trying to enjoy Settlers of Catan. We were not big fans 😂
I’m really hoping this year is better for everyone than 2020 was. Thankfully for Leanne and I, we really feel blessed to have had a great 2020 though. We both had jobs, neither of us caught COVID, we were able to get married (though we really dearly missed having friends and family there), and we had each other. Our families are also safe and doing well.
For the last 2 years, Leanne and I have been fortunate to be able to visit Leicester, NY to enjoy Christmas at the Chen’s. This year was especially fortunate as COVID-19 precautions have made travel very difficult.
Leanne getting swabbed for COVID. She was not a fan!
Very soon after landing in NY, Leanne and I both got tested for COVID and we both thankfully tested negative.
Tony Snowhawk, reporting for duty!
Now it was time to have some fun! Well one thing we don’t get in sunny California where we live is snow, so we made the most of it! We built a snowman and went sledding. So fun!
At the top of the hill, ready to sled.We rented a movie theater for us all to watch “Elf.”Building gingerbread houses.Every year, the Chen siblings all take a picture with the oldest on the bottom and youngest on top. Leanne went from the tallest to the shortest, but the tradition remains!
But even more fun than the snowball fights, building gingerbread houses, having a private movie theater to watch Elf with just family, and sledding was playing with our brand new baby neice Aubrey Chen! She is about a month old and so precious! Tyler and Ashley are lucky, they’re parenting an amazing child! Aubrey mostly sleeps but we did enjoy tummy time with her when we got the chance!
I’m the luckiest person in the whole universe to be married to such a beautiful, smart, kind, and amazing person. We are officially married!
Just absolutely stunning!A little pre-ceremony fun. Leanne is playing the bartender for Kaden. There’s a tradition to break the clay piece. Whoever does it first rules the household. Leanne won by just a hair!We did a tea ceremony for my mom and dad, as well as my grandparents. Our first dance was to “Better Together” by Jack Johnson.
I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you!
As per Indian tradition, the bride has mehndi, or henna, put on her arms and legs before the wedding. These are applied with intricate and elaborate designs. Afterwards, we have a big party!
I’m about to be married, and for the last time I’ll be a bachelor! Rob planned a whole bachelor party for me. We started with Machine Gun America, then an excellent steak dinner, and we ended with a ride on the boat.
Tonight my coworkers took me and Leanne out to celebrate us starting our lives together. We went to a Mexican restaurant in downtown Martinez, CA.
Yum!I love these ladies! These are my coworkers. Beautiful downtown Martinez, CA. It has a charming small town feel to it that reminds me of DeLand, FL
